Bloodleaf
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This colossal tree grows up to 120 meters (393.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 164 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, angular trunk covered in hard, rough, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pine-coloured.
The branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of rough, tiny, teardrop-shaped leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are found in blood red, lilac and aquamarine varieties.
In late summer it forms small, subtle red, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
