Copperfir

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 135 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in hard, wrinkled, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale yellow.

The branches are very long and thin, covered with handfuls of miniature, vibrant red needles. The needles themselves are light.

In late summer it produces small, gold seed pods.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
