Copperflower

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This large flower grows up to 4.4 feet (1.3 meters) tall. Its copper stem is thick and splits into 6 branching stems at the base, and the miniature, lime green leaves are flame-shaped with toothed edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Each stem splits 6 to 10 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 13 cm (5.1 inches) wide, with petals that are either pastel purple or gentle yellow, with a yellow center. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like citrus, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.

It is slightly resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for making strong rope
