Caramel Petal

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.8 feet (56 cm) tall. Its emerald stem is thick and splits into 6 branching stems at the base, and the giant, bronze leaves are asymmetrical with rounded edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Two small flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 19 cm (7.5 inches) wide, with slate petals and a caramel central disk. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of 18 tightly layered, narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like cherry, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.

The sap is edible and overwhelmingly bitter.
