Peach
Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 32 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a thick, straight trunk covered in ridged, light brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is white with black speckles.
The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small amounts of small, wispy leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are slate and beige.
In early spring, it produces several giant, peach blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like grass cuttings.
In early summer it produces very large, wide fruit. The fuzzy vibrant green skin is peel-able and edible when roasted; it is sweet and sour, and the very soft blood red flesh is sour and sticky. The red seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
