Indigo Vine
Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small vine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 21 feet (6.4 meters) and growing as high as 689 feet (210.0 meters). It prefers to grow on specific trees.
It takes 4 months for the yellow-green stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are smooth and slick.
The thin, leathery leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are magenta on the sides and indigo at the center, and have rounded edges.
During late spring, the vine produces a thick sheet of large blood red flowers, and during the mid-autumn, after flowering, it produces lots of small seed pods.
