Indigo

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 12 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many flexible, angular stems covered in cracked, yellow bark, and the wood inside is mahogany-coloured.

The branches trail down across the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of small, very thick, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are found in indigo and aquamarine varieties, frail and clammy.

In early summer it produces many bunches of medium-sized, vibrant purple flowers with kidney-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like rotting meat.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
