Coppervine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 36 feet (11.0 meters) and growing as high as 52 feet (15.8 meters).

It takes 22 months for the copper stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are rough and prickly.

The very thick, covered in fine hairs leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are found in hazel, hazel and lilac varieties, and have toothed edges.

During late spring, the vine produces lots of large cyan flowers, and during the early autumn, after flowering, it produces plenty of tiny seed pods.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
