Indigo Daisy

Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is thick, and the huge, silver leaves are shield-shaped with toothed edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 1 to 3 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide, with petals that are indigo at the sides and purple at the center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 60 petals. They are very delicate.

It has an intensely strong scent that smells like cinnamon, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
