Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This enormous flower grows up to 9.5 feet (2.9 meters) tall. Its gray-green stem is thick and splits into several branching stems at the base, and the giant, light brown leaves are dark yellow on the underside and are finger-like with jagged edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Each stem splits 2 to 7 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 23 cm (9.1 inches) wide, with sky blue petals on the lower layer and light brown petals decorated with lilac dots on the inner layer. The central disk is gentle purple. The flower head is made up of 10 petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.
