Bronze Grass

Grass type: Annual (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized, brown grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The sickle shaped stalks grow in sparse patches that are prone to bending and snapping under stress and they are exceptionally hardy.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, bronze tuft.

During the early winter, it produces copious amounts of pollen, but it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of tiny grains.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
Several parts of the shrub have medicinal properties.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
