Crimson vine
Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This average-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 38 feet (11.6 meters) and growing as high as 418 feet (127.4 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.
It takes 2 years for the lime green stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm) and are rough and gnarled.
The pleated, leathery leaves reach up to 1.3 feet (41 cm) in length. They are crimson and indigo, and have rounded edges.
During late spring, the vine produces a thick sheet of average red flowers.
It is suitable for making strong rope

The stems are covered in large spikes.
