Copper-colored Spineweed

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 185 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in thin, smooth, brown-green bark, and inside, the dense wood is copper-coloured.

The tangled mess of branches are short stubs, covered with small amounts of giant, silver needles. The needles themselves are frail.

In late summer it produces giant, cream, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It can absorb up to 17 times its own weight in water.
