Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 340 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a wide, straight trunk covered in hard, knobbly, brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale yellow.
The small bunches of branches are short stubs and are covered with very large amounts of smooth, large, perforated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in copper, hazel and orange varieties.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, cream seed pods.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
