Bloodvine

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 79 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a flexible, curved trunk covered in fine, rough, silver bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is dark brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with handfuls of tiny, sickle shaped leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in blood red and grey varieties.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, gold blossoms with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like perfume.

In mid-autumn it produces , spherical fruit. The sticky hazel skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy beige flesh is extremely spicy and powdery. The lime seeds are large and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It blooms only at night.
