Lilac

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 75 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in delicate, waxy, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is black with white speckles.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with thick bunches of fuzzy, giant, slender, pointed leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are either purple, or olive with lilac streaks.

In late summer it forms tiny, yellow berries.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
It can survive a long time without water.
