Crimson Succulent

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 55 feet (16.8 meters) tall. The pleated stem is pink-red, and is covered in sharp spines. The spherical body is brown, and is covered in thousands of flexible light purple spines.

It is slow growing, taking 21 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with each petal a slightly different shade of crimson, grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like a man.

The cactus's skin is tough, the olive flesh is smooth, and the lilac sap is thin.

It only grows on the most fertile lands.
