Clinging Sunflower

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its orange-yellow stem is thick and straight, and the giant, orange-yellow leaves are perforated with rounded edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

5 to 7 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with grey petals and a yellow center. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. They are hardy.

It has a powerful scent that smells like warm cookies, and it has lots of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.
