Silver Needle Flower
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This average-sized flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its silver and beige stem is very thin, and the giant, silver and beige leaves are needle-like with jagged edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
Several medium-sized flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 12 cm (4.7 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of slate. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 60 petals. They fall easily.
It has an intense scent that smells like new carpet, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
