Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short caudiciform grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The very thin stem is intense orange, and is covered in thousands of flexible dark brown spines. The twisting, grey trunk can grow to as much as 1 foot (30.5 cm) in diameter at the top. Its yellow branches are short and thick and start growing at the base the stem.
The small bunches of smooth-edged, wide leaves are solid orange with olive streaks. They are frail, and do not detach easily.
It is steady-growing, taking 16 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are generally peach; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 19 petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like lemon.
The caudiciform's skin is thick, the bright yellow flesh is waxy, and the gold sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
