Silver Sickle Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This short cactus grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is silver, and is covered in lots of flexible black spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid violet petals decorated with dull orange dots and a brilliant purple central disk grow at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is made up of 4 petals in raised layers. It has a delicate scent that smells like glue.

The cactus's skin is very thick, the indigo flesh is slimy, and the copper sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.

The sap is edible and slightly sour.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
