Burgundy Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This giant tree grows up to 148 meters (485.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 386 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, twisting trunk covered in thin, waxy, burgundy bark, and inside, the flexible wood is yellow.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of soft, huge, asymmetrical leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are yellow-green with lilac tips.

In early spring, it produces bunches of small, bronze blossoms with triangular petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like vanilla.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, red, shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

The sap is dark grey.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
