Blood Red Moss

This blood red and washed-out orange moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In damp forests.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly resistant.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
