Crimson Petalvine

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its burgundy stems grow in bunches of 5 and are wispy and straight, and the large, olive leaves are perforated with serrated edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 2 to 5 times; a single large flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with black petals that gradient shift to crimson on the outer edge. The central disk is lime. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 34 curved petals. They are hardy.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like candle wax, and it has an average amount of pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to butterflies.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
The bark, wood and leaves are edible.
