When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, cream flower.
During the late summer, it produces lots of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of tiny grains.
The seeds are toxic to people but not to certain animals.
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
