Crimson Succulent
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This small leaf succulent grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The narrow stem is pink-red, and is covered in thick sheets of flexible pink spines. The finger-like leaves are generally hazel. Small amounts of them grow on wide, orange-yellow branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are resistant, and are very difficult to pull away.
It is slow growing, taking 39 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are dull orange at the sides and light grey at the center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like new books.
The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the subtle red flesh is leathery, and the blood red sap is thin.
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
