Its yellow-green stem is thick and straight, and the tiny, moss green leaves are V-shaped with wavy edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
Lots of small flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with petals that are green on the edges and bronze at the center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 39 petals. They are very delicate.
It has a delicate scent that smells like varnish, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
