Candlewood Bush

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 37 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several long and flexible, straight stems covered in thin, knobbly, light brown bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of huge, very thin, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are magenta and green, rigid and sticky.

In late spring it produces hundreds of giant, hazel flowers with 7 umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like candle wax.


It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
The stems are covered in large spikes.
