Clinging Indigo Vine
Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short vine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 18 feet (5.5 meters) and growing as high as 970 feet (295.7 meters).
It takes 10 months for the gray stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are smooth and woody.
The circular, clammy leaves reach up to 3 inches (8 cm) in length. They are found in gold and black varieties, and have tattered edges.
During late spring, the vine produces many clusters of small indigo flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of large seed pods.
It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
