Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 59 feet (18.0 meters) tall. The perforated stem is emerald, and is covered in thousands of flexible gold spines. The thick, gold trunk can grow to as much as 59 feet (18.0 meters) in diameter. Its yellow branches are very long, thin and wispy.
The tattered-edged, thick leaves are a shade of pink-red that gradient shifts to cyan at the top. They are light, but detach easily.
It is quick growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are red on the underside and dark brown on the top grows at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of several tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has no scent.
The caudiciform's skin is delicate, the cream flesh is smooth, and the purple sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
