Copperwood

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This colossal tree grows up to 135 meters (442.9 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 131 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, curved trunk covered in fine, rough, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the soft wood is white.

The sparse amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with thick bunches of crispy, giant, spear shaped leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in slate, indigo and aquamarine varieties.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, yellow seed pods.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
