Golden Fir

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This big tree grows up to 62 meters (203.4 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3675 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, curved trunk covered in thin, cracked, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is black with white speckles.

The sparse amount of branches are short stubs, with dozens of twigs covered with small bunches of giant, brown needles. The needles themselves are frail.

In late summer it produces small, dark grey, shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
