Bronze Cactus
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This modest-sized cactus grows up to 55 feet (16.8 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 3 fan-like stems. Each stem is green, and is covered in large amounts of fine, bronze, hair-like spines.
It is slow growing, taking 35 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with purple petals and an olive central disk, grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight tube. It has a strong scent that smells like new carpet.
The cactus's skin is tough, the caramel flesh is rough, and the amber sap is thin.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
