Red Vine
Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This average-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 29 feet (8.8 meters) and growing as high as 16 feet (4.9 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.
It takes 4 years for the red stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 4 inches (10 cm) and are smooth and waxy.
The long, tapering, crispy leaves reach up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) in length. They are either red or bronze, with blue dots, and have ripped edges.
During late spring, the bine produces hundreds of large indigo flowers, and during the early summer, after flowering, it produces plenty of large fruits.
All parts of the cactus are edible.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
