Bronzeberry
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 31 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a thick, straight trunk covered in hard, ridged, dark green bark, and inside, the light wood is mahogany-coloured.
The small clumps of branches are short stubs and are covered with thick bunches of large, fan-like leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are orange and bronze.
In early spring, it produces handfuls of medium-sized, lime blossoms with many layers of petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like perfume.
In early summer it produces large, perforated fruit. The leathery gold skin is thick and sweet, and the soft amber flesh is sweet and dry. The olive seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
