Bloodrush

Grass type: Annual (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This colossal, burgundy grass grows up to 29 feet (8.8 meters) tall. The spear shaped stalks grow in thick clumps that are delicate.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, blood red puff.

During the early autumn, it produces excessive amounts of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of large grains.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
The sap causes severe rashes
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
