Turquoise Spine Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall. The pleated stem is yellow, and is covered in dozens of flexible turquoise spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 19 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with brown petals and a lime central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 petals. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like rich perfume.

The cactus's skin is delicate, the cream flesh is smooth, and the cream sap is thin.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
