Clinging Mahogany Vine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 53 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has many stocky, angular stems covered in fine, smooth, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches trail down towards the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of large, wispy, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are aquamarine at the bottom and magenta with olive streaks at the top, rigid and smooth.

It produces lots of large, copper flowers with kidney-shaped petals. They are sturdy and have an overpowering scent that smells like misty mornings. In early autumn it forms medium-sizedindigo aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
