Coniwrap Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 37 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, wonky trunk covered in hard, rough, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is burgundy.

The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of small, spear shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are bronze on the edges and slate at the center.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, grey blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

In early summer it produces small, spherical fruit. The crispy magenta skin is thick and inedible, and the soft light grey flesh is salty and oily. The caramel seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
