Climbing Caramel Daisy
Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This average-sized flower grows up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. Its olive or magenta stem is very thick, and the giant, green leaves are dark yellow-green on the underside and are finger-like with jagged edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.
A single large flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 40 cm (15.7 inches) wide, with solid caramel petals and a sky blue central disk. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of 12 raised, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.
It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like coconut, and it has lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
