Magenta

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 33 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, crooked trunk covered in thin, knobbly, dark green bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is silver.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small amounts of large, perforated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either magenta, or cream with green patches.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of tiny, olive blossoms with 2 umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have the faintest scent that smells like rotten egg.

In mid-autumn it produces , long, curved fruit. The rubbery turquoise skin is thin and inedible, and the soft cream flesh is sweet and sour and powdery. The orange seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It is overwhelmingly resistant to fire damage.
