Crimson Sky Tree

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 461 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in very thick, cracked, black bark, and inside, the hard wood is black.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with handfuls of rough, tiny, asymmetrical leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are cyan on the edges and crimson at the center.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of large, copper blossoms with perforated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like fresh linen.

In late summer it forms large, cream, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
